On completion, after rebooting, I had Lr5 installed on the M1 Mac and also an extra user account (LR5Mojave) You don’t even need to login to that account. I indicated that I wanted to migrate from the external disk: I unchecked everything permitted but checked that I wanted to migrate Apps. I attached this disk to the M1 Mac mini, booted normally to Big Sur and I launched Migration assistance. I booted the intel Mac from this external disk (I set username: “LR5Mojave”) and installed only Lr5 (of course I had the last Lr 5.7.1 version Mac installer) On an intel Mac, I installed a fresh copy of MacOS Mojave on an external disk. So here how I “installed” Lr 5 on an M1 Mac mini running Big Sur: Even if you have the old install files, the problem is that the installer will not be permitted to run as it’s 32bit. Mac only: As u/djaane correctly states, to install an old version of Lr 5/6 on a Mac which runs macOS Catalina or Big Sur you must use migration assistant.
